Merranda Logan, MD, MPH

Associate Chief Academic Officer, Mass General Brigham

Merranda Logan, MD, MPH, is the Associate Chief Academic Officer at Mass General Brigham where she leads system-wide efforts to promote scientific discovery, drive efficiency in research administration, reduce costs, and innovate in graduate medical education. She is a practicing nephrologist at Massachusetts General Hospital and faculty at Harvard Medical School.

Prior to her current role, she served as the Associate Chief Quality Officer at Massachusetts General Hospital, Site-Director for Harvard Medical School Fellowship in Quality & Safety, and Director for Fellow Wellbeing in the Department of Medicine. Dr. Logan’s leadership and research interests include healthcare quality and safety, organizational efficiency and workplace culture. Her clinical expertise includes Internal Medicine and  Nephrology.

Dr. Logan was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and comes from a long lineage of educators. Dr. Logan graduated from Barnard College of Columbia University with a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience & Behavior and received her Medical Degree from Howard University College of Medicine, a Historically Black University (HBCU). She received a Master’s Degree in Public Health from the Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Logan trained in Internal Medicine and was a Chief Resident at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia and completed a fellowship in Nephrology at Mass General Brigham. Dr. Logan completed additional fellowships in Patient Safety & Quality Improvement at Harvard Medical School and was a physician fellow at The Joint Commission.
