Michael joined the Massachusetts Alzheimer’s Disease and Research Center in 2019.  Together using creative programing and outreach events the team is working to educate and recruit those underrepresented in Alzheimer’s research.  From 2000 to 2014 Michael worked at the Massachusetts / New Hampshire Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association where he helped develop local and national education initiatives for people of color.  One such program, the African American Community Forum on Memory Loss became a national model.  In 2014 he joined the Community Relations Department of Central Boston Elder Services. Along with managing the agencies Senior Volunteer Program he conducted community education programs, continued to produce, and host the award-winning cable television program AgeWise Boston, and represented the agency on several city-wide collaborations.   In 2021 working in partnership with Bright Focus Productions Michael was selected to be the New England host of Brain Info Live.  The broadcast is a live internet program designed for those living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers and loved ones.

His community advocacy work includes being appointed Chairperson of The Health and Long-Term Care Task Force for the city of Boston in 2005. Upon his stepping down March 13, 2013, was declared Michael Kincade Day in the city of Boston by Mayor Thomas Menino.  In 2014 he accepted a seat on the Health Services Board of Directors for The Dimock Center and was voted Chairman in 2020.  In 2018 The Massachusetts Chapter of The National Association of Social Workers named Michael their Public Citizen of The Year.  Michael is also a founding and current member of the Board of Trustees for the Community Access, Recruitment and Engagement (CARE) organization.  Finally, in his spare time he is working on a compilation of short stories and poems and hopes one day to not get published.
